2012 Annual Dinner

Annual Dinner 2 Dec-2012

2 December 2012, 6.00 PM

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing annual dinner at the Wealth Garden Chinese Seafood Restaurant at 866 Doncaster Road, Doncaster East.  We had around 90 people that night.  We had table prizes, games and raffle draws with lots of prizes donated by various people.  The Tai Chi Group only had to purchase a small number of prizes.  Members, families and friends chatted and enjoyed the wonderful food offered by the restaurant.  Heartfelt thanks to Connie Tat, Agnes Fan, Patrick Luk and others who helped to make this dinner a success.  Thanks also to the management and staff of the restaurant on that day who made us feel so comfortable during the dinner.

Member of Tai Chi Group – $40 per person
Non Tai Chi Group member - $45 per person
Members and guests are welcome at 6 pm for a prompt start at 6:30 pm.

Picnic on Melbourne Cup Day 2012

Picnic at Jells Park, 6 Nov-2012

Tuesday 6th November, 2012, 10:00 am

Jells Park (Ashes Picnic Area), Wheelers Hill

Jells Park turned out to be unexpectedly popular on Melbourne Cup day.  Some of the Committee Members got to the park before 9:30 am but the shelters around the Ashes picnic area had already been taken.  But we managed to get a couple of picnic tables with shade.  We practiced some Tai Chi and then started lunch.

Even though there was a brief moment that we had a light shower, that did not dampen our enthusiasm at all.  We had a fantastic time with lots of food.  Susan's curry heated up with a small portable gas stove was a highlight as well as salads, cakes and other yummy food.

We had a good walk after lunch even though we did take a wrong turn and walked longer than expected.  We eventually found the cafe up on the hill overlooking the Jells Park lake.  Some decided to have a coffee, ice cream or other refreshments and relaxed in the cafe with the nice view for a while.
