Annual General Meeting (AGM) 7 Nov 2020

 Dear Members,

Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday 7th November 2020 at 10:30 am using the Zoom meeting program.  The agenda of the meeting will be as follows:

1. Welcome 

2. Apologies 

3. Proxies 

4. Confirmation of the minutes of the last general meeting 

5. Annual report of the Committee 

6. Financial statement of the association 

7. Decide on the number of ordinary members of the Committee for the next year 

8. Election of the Committee (Open for nomination. Refer to attached form.) 

9. Confirm membership fee for 2021

All financial member of Hong Kong Club Tai Chi Group (TCG), based on TCG's membership register for term 1 of 2020, have been notified by email to members' nominated email addresses or by other means.

Suspension of Classes due to COVID-19

The President, Sam Au announcement on Sat 14 March 2020:

In light of the recent development of COVID-19 situation, the Committee decided that classes will be suspended until further notice.  

Committee will monitor the COVID-19 situation and will decide when classes can resume.

7/3/20 - Labour Day long weekend - NO class.  Outing: Westerfolds Park – Petty’s Orchard

21/3/20 - Exercise Safety Briefing for all members at morning tea time.  No Qigong practice on this day

11/4/20 - Easter long weekend - NO class

25/4/20 - Anzac Day - NO class

6/6/20 - Queen's birthday - Grading Day and sword 42 form (part 2) workshop

27/6/20 - Registration for next term starts

11/7/20 - Rehearsal day

18/7/20 - Open Day

Note: Welcome Party Postponed
Please note that due to concerns about the coronavirus outbreak, Committee has decided to postpone the Welcome Party, usually held at beginning of the term, to a later date to be determined.

Labour Day Outing – Sat, 7 March 2020


Outing: Westerfolds Park to Petty's Orchard

There will be no Tai Chi class on Saturday after next, 7th March, during the Labour Day long weekend.   Tai Chi class will resume the following Saturday (14/3/20).

Instead we will have an outing to walk from Westerfolds Park to Petty's Orchard in Templestowe that morning (7/3/20).   We will walk from Westerfolds Park to Petty's Orchard.  We will have a break at the Petty's Orchard cafe.  You can have brunch there and perhaps buy some fruits.  Afterwards, we will walk back to Westerfolds Park.

Walk information:
We will start from the car park in the north east side of Westerfolds Park and walk towards Petty's Orchard mainly along the main Yarra Trail.   After a rest, for brunch or just coffee, at Petty's Orchard Cafe, we will walk back to Westerfolds Park.  Please see 'Main Yarra Trail' map attached.  The walk is about 40 mins each way.  

Weather or issues:
Hope you will be able to join us for this walk.  However, If weather is not suitable, we will have to cancel.  If you are not sure, do text, WhatsApp, or call Sam on 0418-101-937.  

Please note one should always be prepared, with suitable clothing, hat, sun screen and proper walking shoes etc. for changing weather during walk.

Novel Coronavirus Issue

Start of Term this coming Saturday
This coming Saturday, 1 Feb 2020 will be the start of term.  All the classes will be held as per the time table attached. 

Novel Coronavirus Arrangement
However, as you are aware, there are concerns about the Novel Coronavirus issue.  Based on the recommendations of the Australian and state governments' recommendations, and the concerns expressed by some members, the Committee asks members to follow the following guidelines:
·         If you feel unwell, particularly with the following symptoms, please seek medical assistance and do not come to class.
o   Fever
o   Flu like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and headaches
o   Difficult breathing in some cases
·         Any member who has travelled in the past 14 days to China, including Hong Kong, 
o   avoid coming to class at TCG for 14 days after leaving China or Hong Kong, and
o   seek medical assistance if you become unwell during this time.  
o   Any member who has been a close contact (see information below) of a confirmed Novel Coronavirus avoid coming to class at TCG for 14 days after the contact with the confirmed case

WTQA Chinese New Year 24 form Performance - 1 Feb 2020 Postponed 
Please note that the City of Whitehorse has decided to postpone this Saturday’s Chinese New Year festival in Box Hill.  
So there will be no 24 form Mass Performance on Saturday, 1 Feb, 2020 in Box Hill.
