TCG Name Change



The Committee is proposing at the possibility or having a new name for TCG.    The selection of a new name is currently underway. Members have submitted a range of possible names which will be selected by members via a simplified preferential ballot system. 
Having decided on the most popular name choice, members will be asked to vote at the AGM: 1)if the name change is to proceed and 2)approve the new name. 

Note that the motion for the name change is a special resolution which requires a 75% approval vote by members present at AGM, including proxies, for the name change to be passed.

Social Lunch at Red Lantern Restaurant



A social lunch is planned as follows:

30th Anniversary Celebration Event



30th anniversary celebration will be on 8th July at Balwyn Evergreen Centre.   

 Performances and demonstration by special guests will form part of the day program from 10:30 am to 12 noon.  


Following the program, there will be a 30th anniversary lunch from 12:30 – 2.00 pm. The lunch will be fully catered with Malaysian dishes plus other delicacies.  

Cost of lunch is $10 per person. If you wish to attend the lunch event, please register with Membership Secretary Connie Tat, latest  by 1 st July 2017.

Easter Saturday Nordic Walking (NW) Workshop

Nordic Walking Workshop
TCG will be running a Nordic Walking workshop during Easter Saturday.  
Nordic Walking is an excellent supplementary exercise for Tai Chi practitioners.    Arthritis Victoria does promote NW as an good exercise option for many people.  

 Details of the workshop are as follows:
Instructor:  This Nordic Walking Workshop will be conducted by Sam Au, who is a qualified Nordic Walking Instructor with Nordic Academy.   
Date: 15th April 2017
Time: 9 am - 12 noon
Place: John August Reserve, Balwyn
Cost: $45 TCG members, $55 others
Participants:  We will need a minimum of 6 participants to run this workshop.  A maximum of 10  can attend.
Equipment and shoes:  Nordic Walking poles will be provided during the workshop.  You can purchase NW poles for your own use from Nordic Academy* via Sam Au OR from other NW poles suppliers.   Comfortable runners or walking shoes will be suitable for the workshop.
Registration:  Please register with Connie Tat by Saturday 8th April.
Note:   BYO all items for outdoor practice e.g. sun hat, sunscreen, chairs, drinks, snacks.
·         As John August Reserve does not have shelter, if weather is bad, we will have to cancel the Workshop.  If you are not sure, please call Sam Au on 0418-101-937 that morning.   In such an event, we will attempt to reschedule the workshop or provide a full refund.
